Your attorney may want to utilize a social worker as the court appointed commissioner to take the relinquishment of your birth parent(s). Many times birth parent(s) feel more comfortable with a social workers presence as we can assist in mediating any crisis that may occur. We can coordinate to conduct a relinquishment at the hospital, our office or a place the birth parent feels most comfortable. Unused fees are refunded once all services are provided and the caseworker is no longer needed. Please note that Utah law requires that adoptive parents offer a minimum of 3 counseling sessions to expectant parents.
